1. The mud from the drilling well goes into the poor boy degasser as showed in the blue arrow. Because of the gravity, the mud drops down at the inner structure of poor boy degasser.

2. With the gas bubbles bursting out, the gas flows with the routine of the green arrow. If to burn the harmful gas, connect gas exist of poor boy digasser to flare ignition device by pipe in about 30 meters away from the poor boy degasser.

3. The mud liquid flows out as the red arrow showed, and this mud liquid can go to the drilling fluids recycling equipment such as shale shaker, mud cleaner, centrifuge, etc for further separation.

4. If to clean the mud deposit accumulated in the poor boy degasser, the bottom hole is to drain the mud solids out as specified in the brown arrow.

5. The safety valve on the top is to release the gas in case the inner pressure is very big, and the pressure meter on the top is to read the inner pressure.
