The solids control system is one of the main supporting systems of the drilling rig. According to the actual situation of the site, the solids control equipment is reasonably arranged, and the harmful particles in the mud are removed by a series of equipment; the mud performance is adjusted; the mud circulation is realized; and the relevant requirements of the design process are met.

Stage 1
The drilling fluid flows into the drilling fluid distributor where the vibrating screen is located through the overhead overflow pipe at the wellhead, and then enters the mud shale shaker. Through the vibrating effect of the shale shaker, the solid phase cuttings and impurities in the drilling fluid are treated to avoid drilling accident.

Stage 2
During the drilling process, gas intrusion often occurs in the drilling fluid, and the vacuum deaerator installed on the comes in handy. The drilling fluid processed by the shale shaker is separated from the gas and liquid by the vacuum degasser. Gas is excluded in the mud, eliminating the possibility of cavitation in the subsequent equipment, and also eliminating the harmful gas, ensuring the safety of the drilling project and the relative weight of the drilling fluid.

Stage 3
The drilling fluid treated by the vacuum degasser is pumped into the desander through the desander pump, and the solid phase of 45-75μm in the drilling fluid is separated by the principle of rotating centrifugal separation, and the liquid phase enters the lower system.

Stage 4
The drilling fluid treated by the desander is pumped into the desander through the desander pump. The principle is the same as the three-stage solids control principle. It also uses the principle of rotating centrifugal separation to separate and discharge the 15-44μm solid phase particles, and the liquid phase enters Lower-level solids control system. The difference is that the size of the cyclone used is different.

Stage 5
The fine particles that cannot be separated by the desilter are sucked into the medium-speed decanter centrifuge and high-speed centrifuge through the submerged slurry pump (or screw pump) to process the solid particles of 2-7μm, which is also the last stage in the five-stage solid control. The advantage of the system is that it can efficiently reduce the relative density and viscosity of the drilling fluid.
